Spooks

I really liked the British drama Spooks when it originally aired about MI5, which had a great abundance of quality acting mixed with serious political storylines.  Sir Harry Pearce  (Peter Firth) returns to tie this story and adding Kitchen Harrington you think would be a winning formula.

A usual case of the old double cross and not knowing if our characters were working for the goodies or the baddies left me a little bored .  Like the Sex and the City movies, it felt like it was trying to recreate a period of time and place that had moved on.  2/5

Spooks - DVD (2005)

I'm working my way through the series slowly. As you may know, NZ television sucks at the moment. It is rare to find anything worth watching, so most of my friends are instead choosing to watch series at their own leisure instead of anything on the box.

Series 5 started off with a bang, but got a bit boring and repetitive towards the end. I have found that when you do watch a few series, you notice the same sets being used and similar characters keep reappearing. The loss of Colin and Ruth as characters was felt, and I didn't quite believe Adams descent into madness. Rozs constipated look became her only expression, and it didn't quite seem believable that she would so quickly be involved in major projects.

Still it beats Adam Sandler and Gordon Ramsey any day. 3/5

Spooks Series Three (2004)
A cold and windy end of summer week, meant that the tv didn't want to tune into channels properly, so I tuned into Spooks. I liked this series, as things changed and all the relationships were put to the test.

I agree with you Pia, a bit on the boring side, but still it beats the rubbish on the box at the moment. 3/5

Spooks - Series One (2002)
Another of those tv series I have managed to miss due to work/study/life, however there is something satisfying to sitting down and watching it on dvd, in one extended watch. Story lines are more understandable, and the development of characters is more noticeable.

Spooks are the MI5, the secret service in the UK, the spies who control threat within the British borders.

4/5 - just because I want to know what happens in season two, and I am slightly hypnotised by Matthew MacFayden.
